Maktabatul Athariyyah in Walthamstow, London E17 has reached the end of its two year contractual agreement and has now ceased trading.

We would like to thank all the brothers and sisters who were involved with the shop and those that visited – Jazaakumullaahu Khayran.

Maktabatul Athariyyah - Upton Park, London E13

For quite some time now we had been trying to acquire the rest of the building i.e. the upper and rear parts of the shop, this had come to no avail. We had approached the landlords on several occasions but without success.

We recognised that the shop on its own was not big enough to fulfil the needs of our community.

Therefore after exhausting all avenues in expansion within the shop, the decision has been taken, and it has been a long, hard, thought-out decision, that we have to move on and move forward, therefore the bookshop will cease trading as Maktabatul Athariyyah at Plashet Road on Fri 25TH April 2008, QadrAllaahu maa shaa fa’al.

There will be a closing down sale with 20% off on ALL items, so please take this opportunity and visit the bookshop.

A brief clarification and a reminder to the brothers and sisters to the history of Plashet Road: We took on the premises as Plashet Road Bookshop due to the fact we were in the process of acquiring the property in Neville Road, which is a few minutes walk from the Bookshop. As we know, the property in Neville Road never materialised and since then we had been approaching the landlords of the Plashet Road Bookshop in order to acquire the rest of the property, and had been in discussion with them, and as stated we have now fully exhausted these options.

On the other hand, we are looking at another building; a building which is large enough for a Masjid/ Markaz and can fulfil our needs: a place where we can hold future conferences, tele-links, lessons, Madrassah, etc, and we ask Allaah for the Tawfeeq, and to give us Ikhlaas in our affairs, Ameen.
